ROXANA SABERI SET FREE FROM IRAN PRISON, RECEIVES TWO-YEAR SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR ESPIONAGE... GILAD SHALIT STILL CAPTIVE IN GAZA....

Delara Darabi was put to death mercilessly just a few short days before the freeing of Roxana Saberi. Both in their mid-twenties, Darabi was a local Iranian, whereas Saberi shared dual citizenship with the USA; if there is a message to glean from the harsh treatment of Darabi and the "mercy" shown Saberi, it is that locals can continue to expect harsh "justice" even as a kinder, gentler face is shown to the world at large. The world at large should find this to be a chilling picture of Iran's regime, not unlike all other totalitarian regimes, which offer simplistic analyses of nationhood, history, economics, etc. and which exercise paranoid and repressive behavior within and without national borders. Iran is clearly such a nation. The example of this is the sustained imprisonment of Gilad Shalit in Gaza, the Arab terrorists there receiving fundamental support from Iran.
